Chapter 21
Lakelyn
âI promise, youâve got nothing to worry about, my sister and her husband are super easygoing.â Boden tried settling my nerves again, and while I appreciated the effort, I couldnât curb my fears.
He didnât understand why my level of anxiety was through the roof since heâs one of the few people on the planet who doesnât watch reality television.
I picked up Shebaâs ball and threw it deep into Bodenâs perfectly manicured backyard to focus on the things I could control, which meant being present in the moment. The truth behind why I was so guarded was one Iâd made willingly and had done so to keep my anxiety at bay. However, the elephant in the room was the more time Boden and I spent together, I risked breaking his trust, and Iâd be remiss if I didnât admit that was weighing heavily on me.
âSet a timer for six minutes,â Boden spoke into his Apple watch after closing the barbeque lid before pulling me up off my chair and cupping the sides of my face. âKissing you is my new favorite thing.â

Boden reached for the portable speaker on the side table and cranked up the volume.
âBoden, your neighbors.â
âWhat are they going to do? Call the cops?â He smirked mischievously. âCome on, beautiful, time to live a little.â
With one hand on my hip, he parted my legs with his knee and dipped me backward, earning himself a squeal of excitement to bubble up from within just as the feel of his muscular thigh pressed up deliciously against my core, awakening my nerve endings. It was a feeling I wanted to chase as a sinful shudder pulsed through my limbs before Boden brought me back upright and twirled me around.
I was breathless with abandon. The rhythm and beat of the song fed happiness into my soul and set the tone and fluidity of our movements as we turned his outdoor living space into a private dance floor.
With every step taken, our bodies brushed in sweet harmony. Each stroke heightened our connection, expressed our desires, and teased our wants. It was intimate. It was fun and carefree. We danced like no one was watching, cocooned in our own world cloaked in privacy, and everything about it was pure heaven.
Boden pressed his front to my back and wrapped his arms around my waist. My tube
